Make Ends Meet
03:37
|

Well, I do what i got to, Just to try to survive
I’m out ev’ry mornin'’, Jammin’ nine in’a five
There’s not enough hours, To fit in the day
It’s twenty-four seven, And it’s stayin’ that way
Gotta keep on keeping’ on, You can take the heat
Ain’t no time fuh lollygaggin’, You can’t miss a beat
Ya gotta make ends meet
Better get with it, Well there’s so much to do
The bills keepa commin’, An’ a handful that’s due
Now you’re actin’ kinda bashful, While you’re steppin’ to the plate
Now it’s groovin’ down the middle, And your swingin’ for your fate
Ain’t no time for slowin’ down, Ya gotta hit the street
Cain’t afford to fall behind ‘cause life’s too short and sweet
You gotta make ends meet,( make ends meet )
Ya gotta make ends meet,(make ends meet ) wooo!
You hit the ground runnin’, With no time to lose
But nobody outruns, All the mis’ry and blues
‘Cause sooner or later, Ya gotta face facts
No matter how you cut it, The deck’s always stacked
Guess there’s no escaping’ it, Ain’t no easy street
Better keep your head and do your thinking’ on your feet
You gotta make ends meet ( make ends meet )
Tryin’ ta make ends meet ( make ends meet )
You gotta make ends meet ( make ends meet )
Oh, Make ends meet, Whoo (make ends meet)

Is It Any Wonder?
written by Joe Payne
I was down and troubled, Lookin’ for some way out
Searchin’ for an answer, I was livin’ in the shadows of doubt
Why did you leave me girl, on this killin’ floor?
My heart is broken, But one thing I know for sure
I gotta keep hope alive, Day by day
In my heart and soul, There’s bound to be a better way
Is it any wonder?, Is it any Wonder?
Can’t you hear the rollin’ thunder?
And the rain keeps pourin’ down
Livin’ alone with the blues ain’t no way fo’ a man to live
When your Baby’s left you and you’ve givin’ all that you can give
Loneliness keeps bringin’ me down
Shades of depression seem to follow my life around
If I could keep hope alive, Day by day
In my heart and soul there’s gotta be a better way
Is it any wonder?, Is it any Wonder?
Can you hear the rollin’ thunder?
And the rain keeps pourin’ down
We gotta keep hope alive, Day by day
In my heart of hearts there must be a better way
Is it any wonder?, Is it any Wonder?
Can you hear the rollin’ thunder?
And the rain keeps pourin’ down, And the rain keeps pourin’ down
And the rain keeps pourin’ down, And the rain keeps pourin’ down

What Must I Do?
written by Chris Trimblett
What must I do if I’m to win your love? I got to know, baby I got to know
What must I do if I’m to win your love? I got to know, I got to know
Oh sweet lady, Lookin’ so fine, How’m I ever goin’ to make you mine?
I ask you to dance and you keep tellin’ me no, why is it always so?, Oh, Oh, Oh
Oh hot mama, Actin’so coy, Well I can give you company that you can enjoy
I’ll do all I can to be your ever lovin’ man, But there’s just one
thing I don’t understand
What must I do, To win your love, I got to know ‘cause you drive me wild
Oh baby, You’re Such a delite, What can I do to make things right?
It’s You I Desire, ‘Cause you’re simply devine
Why you leave me hang on the line ( So tell me)
What must I do if I’m to win your love? I got to know, Sugar, I got to know
What must I do if I’m to win your love? I got to know, I got to know,
I Got T Know
From the moment I saw you, I knew then and there
‘Cause ya gave me the vapors and I needed some air
Lightning’had struck me straight from the blue & baby you’re like a
dream come true
Now there’ll come a time when you change your tune
And all of a sudden you’ll be over the moon
You’re bound to recon and you’ll have to admit That I’m a lover that
just won’t quit
Yes I‘m a lover that just won‘t quit( I wanna know )
what must I do if I’m to win your love?I got to know, I got to know 2X
what must I do, to win your love, Well, I want your love, Baby, I need your love
I got to know, baby, I got to know, Pleeease, Hear My Pleas

Truth Be Known
written by Joe Payne
I saw your picture in a magazine, I didn’t even know your name
Now I just really want to know you, Girl
And I hope you feel the same way too
Truth be known Girl I been lovin’ you
Though I don’t know who you are
Truth be known Girl I been needin’ you, Make a wish upon a star
I saw you walkin’ down the street one day
You didn’t stop to say hello
In my dreams at night I think of you
With every passing day my love grows true
Truth be known Girl I been lovin’ you
Though I don’t know who you are
Truth be known Girl I been needin’ you, Make a wish upon a star
Now we’re lookin’ thru our photographs
Our Baby Girl looks the same as you
Guess we were wishin’ on that same old star
Who’d ever guess that you would love me too?
Truth be known Girl I been lovin’ you
Though I don’t know who you are
Truth be known Girl I been needin’ you, Make a wish upon a star
Truth be known Girl I been lovin’ you
Though I don’t know who you are
Truth be known Girl I been needin’ you, Make a wish upon a star
Truth be known Girl I been lovin’ you

Cactus Flower
written by Chris Trimblett
Cactus flower, In twilight, Why you just, Come out at night?
In the day, You go away, Then at night, You come out to play
Oh Magic moon, And stars above, Lead the way, To my true love
Now I search, Both far and wide, Just to be, By your side
And I ride that dusty trail, On the way to El Dorado, Lookin’ for the Holy Grail
You might think the prairie life is anything but free
But let me tell you that’s the life for me
You’re the one, Who lights my fire, You’re my sweet, Complete desire
All at once, My life has changed, Livin‘ here, On the range
Now I ride that dusty trail, From Tucson to El Paso, Lookin’ for the Holy Grail
You might think the prairie life is anything but free
But let me tell you that’s the life for me, O, OOOH
Cactus Flower, Of the night, How I long, To hold you tight
And as the day, Begins to dawn, Just one last kiss, And then you’re gone
So I ride that dusty trail, From Dodge City to Durango, Lookin’ for
the Holy Grail
You might think the prairie life is anything but free
But let me tell you that’s the life for me
Yes I ride, Here in El Dorado
You might think the prairie life is anything but free
But let me tell you that’s the life, Let me tell you that’s the life
Let me tell you that’s the life for me

Cajun Queen
Written by Joe Payne
She’s a Cajun Queen, I can’t deny
I’m gonna love that girl until the day I die
Tell your Mammy, Tell your daddy too
Just don’t stop the way you do it
Or I’ll sent you back to Baton Rouge
She’s my sweet thing, She’s my jambalaya
She’s everything to me she’s the apple of my eye
She cook good Creole’, And a catfish stew
Just don’t stop the way you do it
Or I’ll sent you back to Baton Rouge
Goin’ back to Cajun Country, You know that pleases me
With the only girl I love you know she waitin’ for me
She got them shapely hips and Cajun eyes of blue
Just don’t stop the way you do it
Or I’ll sent you back to Baton Rouge
Just don’t stop the way you do it
Or I’ll sent you back to Baton Rouge
Just don’t stop the way you do it
Or I’ll sent you back to Baton Rouge

Nothing Left to Hide
written by Chris Trimblett, Larry Payne and Joe Payne
I knew right from the start, You’d been hurt before
Just so you know, I’ve had that kind of pain
Believe me when I say, That this old heart of mine
Loves you thru and thru, This I promise you
Words cannot express, These feelings deep inside
Like an open book, There’s nothing left to hide, Nothing left to hide
Upon this crowded world, Around and ‘round we go
But now I’m out of the maze, Leaving behind my troubled ways
With only just one day, I’d spend it all with you
And lookin’ in your lovin’ eyes I know you feel the same way too
Words cannot express, These feelings deep inside
My life’s an open book, There’s nothing left to hide, Nothing left to hide
When all is said and done, And only truth remains
Love will reign, To free us from our chains
I close my eye and pray, And this I always say
I’ll love you ‘till the end of time it’ll always be that way
Words cannot express, These feelings deep inside
Like an open book, There’s nothing left to hide, Nothing left to hide
Words cannot express, These feelings deep inside
Like an open book, There’s nothing left to hide
Nothing left to hide, Nothing left to hide, Nothing left to hide

Politics
written by Chris Trimblett
Politics, That ain’t no way for you to get your kicks
There’s oh so many lies and dirty tricks, All for the greater good
Face the facts, And read my lips when I say “no new tax”
A bridge to nowhere isn’t where it’s at, A house divided never gonna stand
Washington and Jefferson and Lincoln, too
When things got outta hand they knew just what to do
Let’s not be distracted from what’s in the Constitution
Tellin’ us we’re equal since the days of revolution
Liberty, and Common Sense are never guaranteed
Only the truth will ever set you free
Ya gotta let your freedom ring!, Bully!
JFK and Raygun (zap), Carter, LBJ, Were we really better off then than
we are today?
Assassination, Vietnam, Watergate, Iran
Exercise your civil rights Election Day’s at hand
Take a look, When Nixon told us he was not a crook
And Gerald Ford just let him off the hook, They really should’a thrown the book
Politics, That ain’t no way for you to get your kicks
There’s oh so many lies and dirty tricks
And talk about the greater good
Don’t forget the greater good
What about the greater good?

Help The Children
written by Joe Payne
Heart full of passion, Fire in his brain
Head full of hope Y’all, Hands wracked with pain
Won’t somebody help him?, ‘Cause he can’t help himself
No matter how hard he tries he can’t put no food on the shelf
It’s a sad situation, When he walks thru the door
‘Cause he cain’t feed his own children, He’s too damn poor
Help the children, Help the children
Hope in his soul, No food on the table
When a man wants to feed his kids but he, Just isn’t able
Won’t somebody help him?, ‘Cause he can’t help his self
No matter how hard he tries he can’t put no food on the shelf
It’s a sad situation, When he walks thru the door
‘Cause he cain’t feed his own children, He’s too damn poor
Help the children, Help the children
How would you feel if the kids were yours?
Would you holler for mercy ‘cause they’re sleepin’ on the floor?
Won’t somebody help him?, ‘Cause he can’t help himself
No matter how hard he tries he can’t put no food on the shelf
It’s a sad situation, When he walks thru the door
‘Cause he cain’t feed his own children, He’s too damn poor
Help the children, Help the children
Help the children, Help the children
Help the children

Peace In The World
written by Chris Trimblett
These troubled times, Are nothin’ new
The dreams of the many, Dashed by the few
I keep on prayin’, Day out and day in
That we all find some peace, In the world
Here in my heart, I hold on to hope
Lookin’ to Jesus, Learning to cope
With all of my being, Always believing
That we’ll all find some peace, In the world
Dry all your tears. There’s nothing’ to fear
When you have, The Lord, Up above
Let’s all join hands, In this great land
Oh the future looks bright, When we walk in the light
Now now don’t fight the feelin’, You waited so long to find
Comfort, For your wearied mind
Good will and mercy, For all of mankind
Oh, Let’s join together, Now and forever and ever
And there’ll fin’ly be some peace, In the world, Oh Yeah
Now time fades away, With each passing day
But don’t waste one more moment wondrin’ why
Let’s walk hand in hand, In this Promised Land
Oh, The future’s looks bright, When you walk in the light
Well the world needs some changin’, don’t wait too long… To find
Comfort, For your wearied mind
Good will and mercy, For all of mankind
Oh, Let’s join together, Now more than ever
‘Till we all find some peace, In the wor-orl-orl-orld yeah
Let’s join together ( Let’s join together )
Now and forever ( Now and Forever )
And there’ll fin’ly be some peace, In the world
